MomsLikeMe Cutest Baby Contest
OFFICIAL RULES
1.NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
2. Eligibility. Subject to the additional restrictions below, the MomsLikeMe Cutest Baby Contest (the “Contest”) is open to legal residents of Nevada who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. Employees of Reno Gazette-Journal (“Sponsor”), Gannett Co., Inc., Nevada Heirloom Photography, and other participating sponsors and each of their respective affiliated companies, and advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such employees, are not eligible to enter, to vote, or to win.
3. How to Enter. Contest period begins at 12:01 a.m. (PST) May 23, 2010 and ends at 3:45 p.m. (PST), June 26, 2010.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. (PST) May 23, 2010 and ending at 11:59 p.m. (PST) June 1, 2010, enter by visiting the Reno Baby Expo’s Cutest Baby Contest registration page on www.rgj.com/cutestbaby, completing the entry form, submitting a photo of your child, filling in any other required fields, and then click on the “SUBMIT” button. Photo must be submitted by parent or legal guardian 18 years or older. Children must be no older than 2 years as of June 1, 2010. Sponsor reserves the right to verify proof of age. Baby’s name, parents’ or legal guardian(s)’ names, and phone numbers, must be included with all entries. Entries with incomplete or incorrect information will not be accepted. Only one photo per entry per child. Multiple births (twins, triplets, etc.) can be entered as one “baby photo” entry if all of the children are in one photo. Sponsor will accept photos in black and white or color. All digital entries should be at the highest resolution possible up to and including 2000 pixels along longest edge. Sponsor will accept the format of jpeg. The photo should be cropped as the submitting photographer prefers. Each photo submission must be an authentic, original photograph taken by contestant identified on the accompanying entry form, and the contestant must own the copyright in the photograph submitted or accompanied by a photographer’s release. The submission of an official Entry Form constitutes parent or legal guardian’s consent to the publication of child’s first name and first initial of last name and photo in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation, or further compensation. No facsimiles or mechanical reproductions permitted. All photos become property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor reserves the right to verify proof of age of each child.
Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor or similar technology, which may be used for the purpose of entry tracking. Ad blocking software on your computer needs to be disabled so that it doesn’t interfere with processing your entry. Sponsors will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries or votes or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or sponsor. In the event of a dispute, all online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account from which they were sent. For these purposes, an ISP account holder shall mean the natural person assigned to such ISP account by the Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning ISP addresses for the domain associated with such ISP account. All entries become property of sponsor and none will be returned. Any questions regarding the number of entries or votes submitted or the owner of an ISP account shall be determined by sponsor in its sole discretion, and sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the contest.
4. Prizes and Odds. One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive: an EE $500 Savings Bond ARV: $500; baby’s photo will be featured in the December 2010 issue of MomsLikeMe magazine; $200 in photos from Nevada Heirloom Photography; and a mounted 8x10” photo of the winning baby’s photo shot.
5. Voting Procedures & Winner Selection. Vote for your favorite baby photo by going to www.rgj.com/cutestbaby.com. The voting period will begin at 12:01 a.m. (PST) June 2, 2010 and conclude at 11:59 a.m. (PST) June 11, 2010. Online voting is limited to persons 13 years of age or older. The top 10 finalists will be determined on June 11, 2010 by total number of eligible votes received. Each of the 10 finalists must agree to have their baby’s photo taken by Heirloom Photography between June 12 and June 18. Failure to be available between June 12 – June 18, may result in elimination and selection of an alternate finalist. The 10 finalists’ photos will be posted at rgj.com/cutestbaby.com from June 19 through June 25. A second round of online voting of the 10 finalists will occur from June 20 to June 25, as well as at the Baby Expo At the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa on June 26 from 10am-3:30pm. One vote per attendee will be allowed. Grand Prize Winner will be determined by total number of eligible votes received by the 10 finalists from online voting and votes received at the event. Grand Prize Winner will be selected on or about 4:00 pm on June 26, 2010. In the event of a tie, Sponsor will randomly pick the winner from the tied entries. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible votes received.
6. Winner Notification and Acceptance. The finalists will be notified on June 11, 2010 at the telephone number or email address provided on the finalist’s entry form. Grand Prize Winner will be announced at June 26th at the Reno Baby Expo. If the Grand Prize Winner is not present, he/she will be notified on or about June 28th, 2010, at the telephone number or email address provided on the winner’s entry form. If notified by phone, Sponsor will call during regular business hours. Failure to reach a finalist or the Grand Prize Winner during regular business hours by phone, after 3 attempts, or return of email notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification of winner, forfeiture of his or her interest in all prizes, and selection of a substitute winner from among all remaining eligible entries. All winners specifically grant the right to Reno Gazette-Journal to publish the photo of their baby in the Reno Baby Expo’s Cutest Baby Contest Winners ad and on its website. A valid photo identification of parent or legal guardian may be required and a photo release must be executed. Winners may waive their right to receive prizes. Prizes are non-assignable and nontransferable. No substitutions allowed by winner. Prizes and individual components of prize packages are subject to availability and sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility/liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law) which must be returned within the time period specified. Failure to sign and return the affidavit or release, or to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules, may result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and the award of the prize to a substitute winner. Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes winner’s consent to the publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation the Internet, or further compensation. Prizes not won and claimed by eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of sponsor.
7. Participation. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this contest as solely determined by sponsor. In the event the contest is compromised by a virus, non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the contest, sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Reno Baby Expo’s Cutest Baby Contest. Should the contest be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.
8. Construction. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.
9. Sponsor. MomsLikeMe Cutest Baby Contest is sponsored by Reno Gazette Journal. The decisions of Sponsor regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the contest shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to the contest.
