A Cause for Style gives you, the undiscovered teenage artist, the opportunity to express your style through
creative design and community philanthropy. Submit a t-shirt design supporting your favorite local non-profit
organization; designs will be showcased throughout the Reno-Tahoe area, voted on by the community (your friends
and family) and the winning t-shirt design will be sold this holiday season at The Summit, with proceeds benefiting
the selected organization.
Designs meeting the contest requirements that are submitted by 12 pm (Noon) PST, Friday, September 17,
2010 will be entered into the first round of voting. Entries should be judged based on creativity, originality
and effectiveness in promoting the supported organization’s cause and mission.
ROUND 1
• Voting to select the Top 20 designs will begin Monday, September 20, 2010 online at www.rgj.com/causeforstyle.
• Individuals can vote once a day, so tell your friends, family and non-profit supporters to get out the vote!
• Online voting closes at 5:00pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2010.
ROUND 2
• Voting to select the final winner will begin at 10:00 am Thursday, September 30, at The Summit.
• The Top 20 designs will be on display adjacent to Buckle and labeled by number.
• Ballot boxes will be located in select stores for voters to cast their choice, so gather up your fans and head to
The Summit.
• Celebrity Judges will also be voting on the designs based on originality, creativity and effectiveness in promoting
the organization’s cause and mission.
• Ballot box voting closes at 9:00pm on Friday, October 8, 2010.
TOP 20 SHOW AND WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
• The Top 20 designs (selected in Round 1) will appear in a fashion show (on you or a model of your choice) at the
2010 Style Exchange at The Summit on October 10, 2010.
• The winner will be announced at the 2010 Style Exchange and presented with a $500 gift card to The Summit.
• The winning design t-shirt will be on sale at The Summit November – December with partial proceeds
benefiting the represented organization..
